Lounge37 has been a long-term project for me starting out as a photo gallery for music events. Shortly after teaming up with Sectr, Lounge37 began gearing towards graffiti, photography and graphic design. Lounge37 has seen much reincarnation, starting as a simple HTML page designed in Dreamweaver to an entirely Flash based site. Currently, Lounge37 is database backed, fully managed by the means of a sophisticated content management system and employs advanced PHP and web development techniques.
I am very grateful to Lounge37 because of the motivation and education that I acquired through development. Lounge37 will continue to grow as a collaborative effort of talented and motivated individuals.

I started working with Lounge 37 only as a photo contibuted because taking pictures is really where my heart is.
Over the past couple years I have been working in various locations in Canada and traveling to parts of Europe. Now that I am a little more static I have become dedicated to being more involved with Lounge.
Being a Bachelor of Commerce graduate with a major in Finance I can add other insights to Lounge from a business background.
Please feel free to get in touch, I enjoy getting feed back!

I along with Andrei have been developing Lounge37 for over 9 years. Originally, it was a small site with only a few dozen pictures and some really silly flash. That site grew into the site Kulture Shock, which eventually grew into Lounge37. Lounge37 has been trying to expand into something fresh and exciting since the beginning of 2003, which at that time saw the addition of two new team mates Solidcold & Fusionista, and the formation of a partnered business. In addition to the launch of our new look during this summer of 2005, we are really looking forward to the future of lounge37.com
Personally, I have been interested in Graffiti for approximately 11 years. I started writing seriously 6 years ago. I enjoy all aspects of the sport and look forward to what future changes will occur in the chaotic world of graffiti. Not to sound to silly, but the limits are endless and there are constantly people out there pushing the boundaries...

The name, solid cold comes from my all time favorite boxcar: The mechanically refriderated Solid Cold "reefer". The story of the Solid Cold is as follows: In 1982 Fruit Growers Express, or FGE (owned by CSX) needed to repair and upgrade their 20 year old existing fleet of RBL boxcars (insulated plug door cars with moveable load dividers). 2500 of these RBL cars were to be retrofitted with a modified load divider system, as well as installing Chemply fiberglass resistant lining to the sidewalls and upgrading the cushioned underframe and plug door system.
The new refurbished RBL cars cost a fraction of the price of what a new car would have cost ($12,000 vs $60,000). These rebuilt cars were as good as

I Went to NSCAD University and graduated winter 2004 with a degree in Graphic Design. I got a job in Calgary Alberta soon after at a small Ad Agency where I am presently employed. I have been doing some freelance design work from time to time such as logos, bar flyers and posters. Moreover, I love what I do and tend to do a lot of projects such as flash websites for friends and affiliates.

I've been into photography since grade 7 but I stopped taking flicks due to numerous fact like broken cameras, lack of patience, no money, etc. It was taking too long to develop my photos myself and i was taking way too much flicks to afford the developments.
But I got a job last summer! So I bought myself a nice digital camera, which solve all my problems, and got back into this fun habit.
Grandtrunk is the name of a well-maintained, fast-freight rairoad with a separate personality, and it ran steam until 1960. This name also inspired the band Grand Funk Railroad, which i listened to a lot when I was a kid. I'm also a true railfan.
Strictly speaking, Grand Trunk Western is not a "fallen flag". GTW still repots to regulators as a separate classe 1 carrier, but since January 1, 1996, GTW had been submerged in the ident ity of its parent, Canadian National. These days, operation and management of GTW are integrated with the 2650-mile former Illinois Central and the 2850-mile former Wisconsin Central, merged by CN in 1999 and 2001, respectively.
"Grand Trunk Western" was adopted as a trade name in 1923, when 4-year-old Canadian National Railways took over the Grand Trunk Railways of Canada but did not want to use its governmental name in the U.S. The GTR, conceived in 1852, had built from Montreal west to Toronto, then east to Portland, Maine. West from Toronto, GTR reached Sarnia, Ontario, across the St. Clair River from Port Huron, Mich., in 1858, and pushed on to Chicago by 1880.
In post-World War II years, GTW operated 967 miles of track, over 850 of them in Michigan. As its hub in Durand, the Port Huron-Chicago main crossed the secondary main that linked Detroit with the Lake Michigan port of Muskegon( which succeeded Grand Haven in 1933), A Detroit-Port Huron secondary main and six branches, the most important of whicch went to Saginaw and Bay City, completed GTW's rail map.
Grand Trunk Western's last system-wide show of independance from CN was in 1971 under Operating V.P. John H. Burdakin, when GTW departed from CN black on diesels and chose blue for engines and cars. Since 1996, however, "GTW" has been just small initials on CN-painted rolling stock. If you see it, paint that shit!

I've been traveling for the last 8 years around the planet experiencing life and documenting my travels through photography. Currently, I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I met up with the Lounge37.com team while visiting Manhattan, New York. I have a PHD in philosophy, fluent in four languages, and my favorite type of art is graffiti! I think Lounge37.com is a fantastic community of international artists, and I am excited to be a part of it.

I'm not too sure about writing about myself, so I'll let you know what i think might matter. I am from New Brunswick, and recently moved to Toronto after a six-year university/work stint in Halifax. When I'm not wasting my life away pushing paper in an office downtown, I like to take pictures of the city. As is probably evident from my photos on this site, I'm fascinated by the urban built form. Of course there are few cities in Canada that are on par with Toronto in terms of urbanity, so I feel like I'm in the right place to pursue this hobby. Over the next little while, expect more photos exploring both the magnificence that is Toronto's prime architectural beauty, as well as the lesser-known, gritty underbelly of the city. Of course, as this is a heavily-graffiti oriented website, I am collecting a sizeable folder of graffiti pictures. Look for a Queen West update in the near future, as well as some back alley exploration of the East York region.
